TIME TO SHINE!!!!
The time is finally here! It is time for our 3rd Grade Wildcats to SHINE!!!  We are so excited and ready to show off all of the skills we know.  This is a very important time for your child. PLEASE encourage him/her to do his/her BEST each day.  Give extra hugs and smiles.  These students have worked so hard this year and are going to do GREAT on the test!
Your child will not have any homework during the week of testing!  The only assignments we want to give them are to have fun playing when they get home each day, get a good night's sleep (do not go to bed late), and wake up ready to work hard for the next day.  If you eat at home, please have your child eat a healthy breakfast.  Our lunch ladies will be preparing great breakfasts at school, too.

Reminders:

We are getting back into the swing of things after Spring Break. The students have worked hard this week!

Farmington Elementary has a new website. You can access it by going to the Graves County Schools homepage and clicking on the Farmington Elementary link.

Next week is spring pictures. Students may take pictures alone, with friends, or with siblings. Please fill-out the form in the Friday Folder and return it by Thursday.

Also, the sales items will be in on Thursday. If your child sold items, someone needs to be in the gym after school to help bring the items home.

It's hard to believe we are nearing the end of the year. There are three instructional weeks left until our students take the end of the year state test (KPREP). We are working hard to prepare students so they can work hard and show how smart they are. Thanks for all your help encouraging your child to do his/her best.

Have a great weekend! It looks like the weather will be nice!

WELCOME BACK!!!!

We hope you had a wonderful, relaxing, and safe Spring Break! We can't wait to hear all of the details!

Friday, March 22, 2013

What an exciting week here in Third Grade! We learned about bike safety and will use that information to write an article next week.

Students helped a needy family through Heifer International by purchasing a flock of chicks. I am so proud of our students.

We will have an Easter Party next Friday the 29th. Students voted to have an extra recess instead of an egg hunt.

One more week until Spring Break!

Saturday, March 16, 2013

Just a couple of announcements:
1. Thanks so much for coming to conferences last night.  If you haven't had a chance to return report cards, please try to have them back in by Monday (if at all possible).

2.  There is a bicycle rodeo (bicycle safety course) this coming Wednesday.  Please make sure to sign the permission form in the folder to allow your child to do this.  Your child will not be able to ride a bike unless the form is signed.

3.  There is also a blue note about electronic devices.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Enjoy this BEAUTIFUL weather!

What a GREAT week we had in Third Grade! Students attended a dental program and learned ways to keep their teeth healthy. They did a great job of listening and asking questions.

The field trip was a success! The Charlotte's Web performance was funny, sweet, and entertaining. Of course, the pizza at Pizza Inn was delicious, and we were proud of our student's behavior.

The Valentine party was fun, and students were very excited to pass out their Valentines.

We are looking forward to a great week of learning next week!
